I am a 65 year old female and have chronic UTIs for the past 20 years. I also have been diagnosed with Proteus penneri after bladder infusions for Interstitial Cystitis and Epstein Barr Virus (6 months ago). What seems to help with Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus penneri (community/hospital acquired) is a product called Lugols Solution (Iodine (5%) by JCrow which I discovered on the Internet while trying to find help for UTIs resistant to antibiotics. I buy it on Amazon. I use about 6 drops in a glass of water 3 times a day for 4-7 days. I notice relief of symptoms of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus penneri and UTIs within 2 hours. I assume Lugols Solution (Iodine) has anti-bacterial properties and also take Acidophilus. Lugols Iodine, I discovered is at 2% strength, but you would have to take a higher quantity to get the same results. Works for me.

• 1 oz 5% solution

Aqueous solution. 84% distilled water. 10% Potassium Iodide. 5% Iodine. Iodine is necessary for the thyroid gland's proper performance of its work. All the blood in the body passes through the thyroid gland every 17 minutes. Because the cells making up this gland have an affinity for iodine, during this 17-minute passage the gland's secretion of iodine kills weak germs that may have gained entry into the blood through an injury to the skin, the lining of nose or throat, or through absorption of food from the digestive tract. Strong, virulent germs are rendered weaker during their passage through the thyroid gland. With each 17 minutes that rolls around they are made still weaker until finally they are killed if the gland has its normal supply of iodine. If it does not, it cannot kill harmful germs circulating in the blood as Nature intended it should. "In relation to supplemental use of iodine, my studies of certain dairy herds has revealed interesting evidences of the relationship between host and micro-organisms, viruses, insects, and other parasites.....My object was to rout these cattle grubs by means of the apple cider vinegar and iodine, combination; this would demonstrate, to me at least, what the combination would do in the way of making the body as a host unsuitable soil for the development and continuing existence of microorganisms, viruses, insects, and other parasites." Lugols - Bud's Mom - Texas
Used this on my dog. He was diagnosed with Lymphnode cancer. It actually worked on one of the glands, but not the others. I think if I used it right when I noticed the swelling gland it might of worked. I tried chemotherapy for him. However, it made it extremely worse. I would not recommend using chemo for this cancer on a dog. We put my Bicon to sleep because he could barely breath. All his glands grew extremely large once I started the chemo.

Since I started taking Lugol's, I have more energy. I always suspected that I had a sluggish thyroid, because I had all the symptoms. I guess I was right, because this product is helping me. I developed a slight pain in my neck on the 3rd day, but it went away after an hour or so and never came back. The only downsides are that it tastes awful and temporarily stains the skin if you get it on your hands.
